Joining the Advisory Board of IndiSuKI
I'm happy to share that I've been appointed to the expert advisory board of IndiSuKI, a research project exploring how generative AI can make substance use prevention more effective and personally relevant.
IndiSuKI — short for Hyperindividualized Health Communication and Behavioral Motivation in Addiction Prevention through Generative AI — is a collaboration between nuvio, the University of Siegen, and Railslove, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Health. The project goal is to develop and test an AI-powered application for personalized cannabis prevention aimed at young adults aged 18–25. Crucially, the target group itself will be actively involved in the development process, and the resulting prototype will be released as open source.
My invitation to the board draws on my work in user experience design, with my particular focus on privacy, digital intimacy, and empathetic AI. These feel like exactly the right lenses to bring to a project that asks how an AI companion can support reflective decision-making on sensitive personal topics — without being intrusive, paternalistic, or extractive. I'm looking forward to accompanying this project and support it over the course of the next two years.
